Dancing - The dying swan and other dances of the world
The Dying Swan is a three-minute pointe solo that incorporates influences from expressive dance. The choreographer Michel Fokine created this work for the outstanding ballet dancer Anna Pavlova. The musical accompaniment called Le Cygne comes from the suite Le carnaval des animaux composed by Camille Saint-Saëns in 1886. Furthermore, the solo had its premiere at a charity event in the Mariinsky Theater on December 22, 1905. It should be added that this is not a solo from the classical ballet Swan Lake.
